INFECTIOUS BRONCHIAL ASTHMA

Abstract
According to the Swineford¢¥s report: Asthma, classification of causes, a recommended classification and a critical review, (J. Allergy, 25, 151~167, 1955), he has classified the patients with bronchial asthma atopic type 40%, infectious 10% and mixed 5016. Recently Shihoda (1969) has reported that in Japan it was classified atopic 27%, infectious 31% and mixed 42%. Nowadays microbiologists, physicians and allersistgs recognize well the important significance of the infectious type in the bronchial asthma.
In this paper the brief review on the infectious asthma is given. The mention is refered to the
concept of the infectious asthma at first, and thereafter alluded to the decision of the offending organisms in the infectious asthma (detection of the pathogens from the respiratory secrets, skin test and serologic reactions) and treatment in the infectious asthma (when the pathogens work antigenically, when the infection works as the induced factor only and other common managements in the infectious asthma.)
